Just TRASH It! Provides On-Demand Commercial and Residential Waste Removal, with Help from Intelligent Office

There are not too many people who get to fulfill their childhood dreams but Kevin Copeland is one of the exceptions.

“When I was maybe 5 years old I told my parents that I wanted to be a garbage man,” jokes Copeland, owner of Just TRASH It! Junk Removal and Recycling.

It wasn’t long after that Copeland began to recognize the reoccurring needs for trash pick-up.

“When I was in college, I saw a lot of trash at apartments and that got me thinking about a viable business model,” continues Copeland. But it wasn’t until 1997 that he decided to leave his corporate job and start his own business providing waste removal and recycling services to homeowners and businesses.

Today Copeland boasts 6 trucks and a staff of 10 making pickups across Atlanta from Brookhaven to Buford, Tucker to Smyrna and a myriad of places in between.

Copeland doesn’t compete with the waste management company that makes your weekly pickup.

"We specialize in turning one car garages into two car garages by hauling away mattresses, sofas and appliances,” explains Copeland. “We go in and help clients reclaim their valuable space, whether it is in their basement, garage, guest room, storage shed or attic.”

In addition to working with homeowners, Just TRASH It! serves a lot of commercial customers, too, when they vacate their commercial office space through downsizing, moving or simply going out of business.

Corporations of all sizes – and even government entities like the IRS – call upon Just Trash IT! for help with moving day.

“Initially we thought we would just be serving residential clients but contractors, property managers, commercial office managers and realtors have turned into a regular source of new business.”

Just TRASH It! is headquartered in Dunwoody and has a second office in Doraville that serves as the recycling facility. Doraville is where they take the items that are picked up and then separate them into metals, papers, plastic and any donate-able items. Recycling generates a small amount of revenue, for metals and such, but more importantly reduces the amount of waste that goes into the landfill conveniently located just 600 yards from their facility.

Businesses like the 800-GOT-JUNK franchise have paved the way for Just TRASH It! as far as recognition and credibility for their industry but because Copeland’s business is locally-owned and operated, he is better able to compete on service, price and overall value.

“We also have bigger trucks and more flexibility in the size of truck that we use to make a pick up,” continues Copeland. “If someone calls with a couch, we’re not going to send our largest truck over there.”

Each of Copeland’s trucks is equipped with a GPS and range in size from 16 feet all the way down to one with a four foot bed. Pickup fees begin at $105 depending on the size of the load and proximity to the Just TRASH It! facility.

Since July of 2008, all of Copeland’s calls have been answered by the professional receptionists at Intelligent Office.

“It has given us more time to focus on the job and gives us our own answering service to filter out the junk calls from the valuable client opportunities,” concludes Copeland.
